ABOUT RWIZI-NETWORK

The Rwizi-Network is an all inclusive Sub-regional Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which was established in July 2018, as an alliance of diverse self-governing voluntary organisations (non-governmental organizations and community-based organisations) in south western Uganda, each having their own members and mandate but united as civil society in the common pursuit of Good governance, Human right for all, sustainable environment and Rights-based approach to development
Rwizi-Network currently covers 5 districts of Rwizi region south western Uganda ie (Mbarara, Isingiro, Kiruhura, Ibanda and Ntugamo Districts). Rwizi-network puts much emphasis on Creating a conducive environment and platform through which member CSOs/ groups articulate their interests, exercise their rights and obligations, galvanize social capital and mediate their differences to achieve a common goal.
Through its work, Rwizi-Network also focuses on Human rights promotion and protection especially human rights defenders, citizenry participation, inclusion of multiple social groups, transparency, accountability, rule of law, effectiveness, equity and strategic planning.
The network is dynamic when action is centered on the set goals, coordination is responsive and effective and there is a multiplier effect from activities all geared to achievement of the network’s mandate.
Rwizi-network is also guided by the principal that without good governance; human rights cannot be respected and protected in a sustainable manner. The implementation of human rights relies on a conducive and enabling environment. This includes appropriate legal frameworks and institutions as well as political, managerial and administrative processes responsible for responding to the rights and needs of the population.

RWIZI-NET AIMS/OBJECTIVES
1. To advocate and Campaign for the implementation of the actions and policies needed to ensure good governance, Human right, rule of law and sustainable environment management;
2.To create a common platform and meeting point for civil society organisations to coordinate their advocacy and campaign activities on good governance, human right and democracy and other sustainable development programs;
4. Co-operate with national, regional and international organisations in pursuit of the Network’s aims/objectives.
5. To empower CSOs in Rwizi region to monitor legislative and administrative development in the region and country to ensure human rights principals and good governance, sustainable environmental management in society
