Good governance

The overall objective of the Program is to contribute to improved transparency and accountability in public expenditure at regional and district council levels. The core components of this Program is capacity building of CSOs and citizens to demand for improved accountability and transparency for improved service delivery and capacity building of Media houses to engage in Budgetary Process, conduct investigative journalism, disseminate and raise awareness to key stakeholders on budgetary issues and advocate for improved service delivery.

 

Specific program objectives

1.  To strengthen Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and community’s participation in planning, budget analysis, and expenditure tracking for effective public services delivery.

2. To strengthen social accountability and oversight capacity of district councils and communities in promoting good governance

3.  To monitor public contracting and contract implementation to enhance transparency and effective service delivery

Meaningfully Participation

CSO’s participation is a central principle in every democracy. Rwizi-netwok facilitates CSOs to rally its constituency to meaningfully participate in governance and democratic system through voting in free and fair elections. monitoring public projects,  Involvement in community projects, self-help groups or charity initiatives;

Involvement in traditional and cultural activities and events;

Formation of interest or lobby groups;

Organising community meetings, dialogues and debates with elected leaders;

Formulating petitions;

Involvement in public planning and budgeting processes

Organising campaigns and legal protests;
